Dear Gabriella & Ilaria,
We just wanted to thank you for making our wedding day absolutely perfect. You gave us and our families a day to cherish for the rest of our lives. We knew from the day we decided to do a destination wedding, that a lot of work would be involved. You both made planning a wedding effortless and stress free. Every step of the planning process you answered our questions and our concerns so quickly, it felt as if you both were here talking to us face to face.
Every request we made for our wedding, even last minute things, you handled without any worries. The flowers were spectacular and were an exact replica of a picture I had sent you. The Church, Priest and choir were picture perfect. The food was amazing - our guests are still talking about the food! And The Santavenere was the perfect venue with its luxurious and breathtaking grounds. The staff were so friendly and entertaining.
We were so warmly welcomed by everyone in Maratea, it really felt like we were family. We really appreciate you taking us to the venues and a tour around town the day before. It helped ease any worries we had about making such big decisions without ever having been to Maratea. Our photographer, Kristen as well as us are forever grateful for you personally taking us to the town square for pictures after the ceremony. We have pictures that we never would have gotten had you not made time for us to do so. We will definitely come back to Maratea in the near future!

Maratea and the Maratea coastline was the most perfect setting for our wedding, offering breathtaking views, dramatic landscape and a quintessentially Italian historic town to keep all our guests happily amused. Gabriella and Ilaria did an exceptional job of organising every single detail of our wedding, from all of our guest accommodation right through to the exact order of the events on the wedding day. They both catered to our many demands and responded cheerfully even when we changed our minds and then changed them back again. We were highly impressed with their attention to detail, they even picked up on things we had missed and made sure every detail of our wedding day was organised to perfection. Once in Maratea they made themselves completely at our disposal, even going above and beyond the call of duty by collecting Bec (the bride) from our hotel and returning her again just she could have a run-through with the hairdresser. We selected the Santavenere as our wedding venue and it truly provided the five star experience only a luxury hotel can. The food and the staff at the Santavenere were both outstanding, not to mention the beautiful grounds and private setting. Our wedding in Maratea went above and beyond our expectations and we have very fond memories that we will cherish forever. Happy newly-weds.”

Thank you Gabriella and Ilaria! Thinking of marrying abroad, you imagine it will be stressful and difficult to arrange. With Maratea Weddings and Mondo Maratea, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
From our initial enquiry through to the day itself, Gabriella and Ilaria responded to our requests quickly and professionally. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel as if we were their main priority.
When we decided to marry, we both felt we wanted to elope somewhere romantic and friendly, in a way that was intimate and special.
Maratea did not disappoint! Perched on a hillside between spectacular, verdant mountains and the almost deserted rocky coast with turquoise sea, the Old Town’s little streets and steps seemed magical. For us, it was also the perfect balance of being hidden away from the tourists, but with plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes to explore.
We really felt welcomed there too. The people of Maratea are wonderfully warm and friendly. On the evening before, we were even greeted with “Domani sposato?” (Is it you marrying tomorrow?) by staff in one of the restaurants. Then on the day, as we walked to the Municipio we waved at Stella (who made the beautiful bouquet) and were met by Luigi (the photographer). Amongst this, locals in cars beeped their horns, waved and it seemed as if there was an almost constant chorus of “Congratulazioni!” and “Buono fortuna!”.
